This is the second book from the Black Dagger Botherhood Series and it is my first favourite of the series. The hero Rhage and the heroine Mary are such an interesting characters. The hero is a warrior but he is punished by the Godess where he actually turns into a dragon when he gets emotional/angry. Mary, a cancer survior, who also works as helpline assistant, knows she is going to die as her cancer is back. They are such an interesting pair.
When Rhage realises that Mary is meant for him, you can feel his fear as he realises that his dragon wants her as well. You can also feel his sorrow when he realises that she is going to die. At the end, the sacrifice he has to make for her to live is so touching that you end up shedding tears for him. As I told you before, this is my favourite of this series. I think I have read this book at least 10 – 15 times 🙂 and I could still read it again.
Mary Luce, a survivor of many hardships, is unwittingly thrown into the vampire world and reliant on Rhage’s protection. With a life-threatening curse of her own, Mary is not looking for love. Her faith in miracles was lost years ago. But when Rhage’s intense animal attraction turns into something more emotional, he knows that he must make Mary his alone. And while their enemies close in, Mary fights desperately to gain life eternal with the one she loves…
