Review: Sally Beauty GVP Hair Product

In Sally’s beauty, they also sell the Generic Value Product which basically means that they duplicate the popular products at half the price 🙂 . So yay for people who don’t want to spend a lot of money on products. I have been wanting to try the CHI silk infusion and Paul Mitchell’s Skinny Serum for a long time but they both are $ 15-20 each which is a lot of money considering I don’t know if it will suit my hair type. So after reading reviews about this product, I decided to get them.

You also have to consider that Sally Beauty sometime have a sale on these GVP products which is a good time to stock up your shelves. I remember the sale 2 for $10 where as the original price were about $8 each which is not bad 🙂 . But during the time I was in USA, I couldn’t find this type of sale at all and so I ended up buying them at the original price. I will describe what the product suppose to do below.

Lets start with Paul Mitchells Skinny Serum, It is suppose to smooths, conditions, adds shine and reduce the time of drying. It is a pretty light serum which I like and it smells good as well. As per the instructions, I use these all over my hair before I start drying my hair with the drier. I take about 2 pumps.  I do think that it reduces the time of drying and it does smooths my hair but not like the fizzy serum but it does the work. Between the two products I bought, this is my favourite.

The next product is the CHI Silk Infusion. It is supposed to be a serum to protect hair from heat damages and also make the hair manageable. I found this serum to be very thick and it structures my hair (meaning in my language 😀 , it feels as if I have applied a gel or something in my hair, like it feels crunchy and stiff). The first time I applied it all over my hair, big mistake, because I could just feel the hair handing stiff and it started looking oily the next day. So the next time, I used them only from my chin down hair which was good. I just use one pump for my entire hair.

My hair is naturally wavy/curly and this CHI serum made my curls look defined. I am liking this products together as I have been using them for almost 2 months. I have stopped using my fizzy serum 🙂 . Overall, I am liking the combination of both in my hair recently. I would definitely purchase this again and maybe look around for more GVP products to try.
