DIY : Lipstick Palette

I got the idea to make a lipstick palette after reading Bubblegarm’s blog. I thought this would be a great palette to give it to my cousin who is a teenager. I didn’t realise I have so much lipstick when I decided to do this project. So I bought the Claire’s broken eyeshadow palette for about £ 2. I just needed the palette but the original price is about £ 4 (I think). I bought 2 palettes one for me and one for my cousin 🙂 .

The palette looked cute and just the right size. I will tell you how I did it 🙂 .

  1. Scrape off the eyeshadow from the palette with a knife. The eyeshadows were very soft so it was easy to scrape the palette clean.
  2. Clean them with soap and old toothbrush. Let it dry.
  3. Take a sharp clean knife and the cut the lipstick and place it on a teaspoon.
  4. Melt the lipstick by placing it on a low heat. It will take under 15 sec for it to melt. Take it off the heat if you see steam coming from it.
  5. Pour the melted lipstick onto the palette.
  6. Clean the teaspoon and knife with a paper towel and continue to melt the next lipstick.
  7. Once you poured all the lipsticks, clean the edges and then you have a perfect palette ready 😀 .

I really liked doing this project. It just takes a lot of patience. It is also a great gift for any age girls and as for myself, It a simple way to carry about 10 lipsticks 🙂 . It doesn’t take up much space in your purse. Also, make sure you get a lip brush to go with the palette.

Hope you enjoyed reading my project 😀 .
