Wholemeal Chocolate Cake

I have been wanting to bake a cake with wholemeal flour which I had. I searched for the recipe and found one which is simple and easy. The original recipe is from Gels Kitchen and I made little changes to it. It tastes fantastic 😀 .

Ingredients

2 cups wholemeal flour
3 tbsp baking powder
4 tbsp cocoa powder
2 cups sugar
1 cup soy milk
200 g butter
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp coffee & chicory essence

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180 deg C.
  2. Grease the cake pan.
  3. Combine all ingredients in the bowl. Blend it with an electric blender for 4 min until creamy and fluffy.
  4. Pour the mixture into the pan and bake it for 35 min.

P.S. I burnt this cake on top because I kept the cake for 45 min in the oven but the taste was good. I have to say that it was very heavy on my stomach.
