Review : Clarins Eye Contour Gel

I have started using an eye gel about 2 years ago when I wanted to do something about my dark circles under the eye. I think my first eye cream was Olay and it was a cream and I have to say that it did nothing to my eyes. Then i read a book about skin care and to my horror I found What not to use under the eye 😦 .

It seems that you have to avoid using creams under the eyes because it had the thinnest skin in our face. So once you start using creams, the oils in the creams start settling under the eyes and of course, after some years leads to bags under the eyes 😦 (and they had a picture of the under the eye bags and it was disgusting) . So they advised to use eye gel instead of cream where it has more water πŸ™‚ . So then began my search eye gel.

My first eye gel was Crabtree & Evelyn which was fantastic but it was getting over and then began my search for another eye gel. So I decided to invest in an expensive/High-end brand of eye gels and so i started researching about it. I finally decided on Clarins after reading some reviews on it. When I started shopping for it, I realised that it’s about € 32 which is a lot. So I started looking for a bargain πŸ™‚ .Β I then found it in CheapSmells for about € 23 which is a bargain.

Now moving on to the review πŸ˜€ , Its in a small tube containing 20 ml of the product. You might think that its less for the price but all you need to use is a dot for one eye πŸ™‚ so it will last long. The gel is a light blue in colour and when applied it just applies easily in the eyes and absorbs very quickly. It is also a fantastic base for concealer πŸ˜€ .

It’s a good eye gel and it also says thats its good for under eye circle and puffiness. I don’t know if that works but I like using them πŸ™‚ . Maybe there is a cheaper alternative for this eye gel but When i find it, i will definitely tell you about it.

Do I think its worth buying? YES I do. But keep in mind that always go for the gel option rather than the cream option πŸ™‚ .

  1. Ohhh.. That bit on eye cream there is interesting.. weirdly enough I read in Vogue Makeup that one should not use Eye Gels under the eye – as the gel deposits & the body is unable to break it down causing – eye bags…

Now you have shared your information that eye creams too maybe doing the same!

I guess i’ll just stick to natural, home made lotions for my undereye area πŸ™‚
