As summer is here, my hair/scalp is acting up again 😦 . You know this happens during every season change and I absolutely hate it. So I decided to change the routine products I use. So I got the below new products to try and it has been a month and I am ready to review these 🙂 .
Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Moisture Mist
I got this from Target in the products of colored women section (I hope I used the right word) for about $ 10. It has silk proteins and neem oil and it is specifically for thick and curly hair. The texture of my hair is thick and wavy 🙂 . So I decided to try some products which caters to that kind of hair. It is a moisture mist which can be used on dry or damp hair and I have used them on both. It smells good, sorta coconuty but something else as well and I can’t put my finger on it. And it does gives the hair a shine. When I used it on the dry hair, it got wet and when it dries, it does give a sheen and I do like it.
But if you ask me about any changes in my hair, I really don’t know. I can’t see any difference. It doesn’t improve your hair, it just protects it. I also use this on Baby A’s hair. She has this curly soft hair which is all over her head. It does make it easy to comb her hair especially in the morning 🙂 . I definitely think it is a good product to have if you have a thick curly hair.
Alba Botanica Natural Hawaiian Shampoo and Conditioner
I got them in a set in Target in the clearance for about $ 7 or so. I have seen this brand in the natural section but never wanted to try this since it was little bit expensive and I have a very difficult hair/scalp and every shampoo and conditioner suits me 🙂 . It has coconut milk and has no sulfates in it. When I saw this in Target, I decided to try this since I wanted to change my routine products. This product has indeed surprised me 🙂 . This actually suits my hair/scalp 😀 . I was so very happy about it.
I am not fan to the smell though. It just a normal forgettable scent. But it does wonders on my hair. Ok, maybe I should say it doesn’t make my scalp itch and that is definitely a plus point for me. It doesn’t soften my hair or anything. And the conditioner is not super moisturizing for my thick hair. It’s a very light conditioner, maybe good for fine/thin hair. But for my thick hair, It doesn’t make any difference except maybe it acts a detangler 🙂 .
But overall, If you have a normal hair, then you should definitely try this one and I am sure you will like it 🙂 .
