Pet Peeve #3

Note : I just returned from a trip.

Dear Lady in Seat No. 24 H,

You were the person who sat in front of me in the Dubai to Seattle flight and the reason I noticed you is because you wished to sit in the window seat but unfortunately the one who reserved it wanted to as well. After you graciously moved in to your allocated seat, you let then know that you usually travel in a “Business class” because it is so spacious and the reason you are in the economy class is because it was all booked. As soon I heard it, I heard “Ting”  in the mind, I knew she was going to annoy me.

And as we all got settled and waited for our plane to move, I heard you have a conversation with your neighbor on where they were from? etc, etc. And without them asking, you informed them that you fly to Dubai often because you were born there but you stay in Denver. You apparently visit your brother often in Dubai because he lives in a villa in the Palm Island. You visit him every two months and you always fly “Business class” .

And as soon as the plane was in the air, I saw a hostess coming towards you since you called for her. I heard you asking for some drink and the hostess answered that they don’t serve that here. But apparently you always have that drink as soon as you board the plane because (you know it) you always travels in “Business class” .

After about 2 hours, you apparently was not comfortable sitting in an economy class seats because it was small for you and of course, you complained that this is the reason why you always fly “Business class” . Let’s not forget that it has nothing to do with you being overweight. But kudos to the man sitting adjacent to you who was tall and very muscly (Is that a word?) and he traveled without complaining in the economy seat.

And after I got up from a much-needed sleep, it was time for duty-free shopping. They were selling some stuffs for 30% off and of course you were checking it out. You then called a hostess to ask some questions about that and you were interested in some perfumes. You also asked if there were on sale as well but were informed that it was not. But you replied that whenever you travel in “Business class”, you always get them on sale.

You then made a new friend because the couple was from Dubai too. But you actually talked to a guy who was sitting next to them who also happened to be a Dubai-an and somehow convinced him to sit in front of me so that you can sit with the couple. Again you called the hostess since you had some questions about some stuffs you were interested in. And after talking to them for 5-6 times, you still didn’t buy anything and hostess apologized repeatedly that they don’t have any offer on the things she was interested in. Do the Business class has separate sale going on? I had no idea.

Anyway, By the time we reached Seattle, I was annoyed and was rolling my eyes everything I heard you. And when we got up to get off the plane, I heard you grumbling that you had to stand and wait for a long time to get down because you were not in the “Business class”.

Listen lady, NOBODY cares. You should have waited another day to see if they have “Business class” seats available. And for your information, nobody is sympathizing with you because you are “suffering” in the economy class. If you don’t want to suffer, then you should have spent more money to get a “First Class” seat, I am sure they had at least one seat available.

I really had to tell this annoying incident to your readers. I was so irritated by her. First of all, nobody needs to know that you always travel in “Business Class” and second of all, I don’t think you need to justify why you travelled in Economy class.

Confessions of a Book Lover

As you all know that I am a hardcore book reader and book lover . I love reading books. I have always been like this. It started with comics in early school days and followed by Enid Blyton, Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys in my early Teens. Then in my late Teens I was reading Mills & Boon, Harlequin and Silhouette.

I think I loved the fact that it is a different world in the books. During my college days I started reading Historical Novels and some mystery novels. But somehow I always tend to move to the romantic novels and the reason is because it’s a light read and you always know that it has a happy ending. I am not a person who is into reading deep stuffs like autobiography or war stuffs. It just bores the heck out of me.

I want to read something light and something funny. If I read something too deep like once I read a story about a widow finding that her husband has another family. The whole book was deeply emotional and though it was a good book, it made me feel depressed the whole week. I kept thinking about it and I was heartbroken for her and I certainly didn’t like feeling like that .

I discovered Paranormal books in 2007 and there in started my obsession about the genre. The reason why I am fascinated by it is the imagination of the author. I think they are brilliant. And every author has a different imagination and some are over the top like the Lord of the Rings . Seriously I have not read that book and nor Harry Potter. I tried reading Harry Potter and by page 2 I was over it .

And one of my pet peeve is making a movie out of the book. They are never the same and I hate that. They take away half of the scene and I swear 98% of the time, the hero and heroine never looks the same as your imagination. The movie just kills the books for me.

I am so grateful that I moved to the wonders of ebook . I LOVE my ebook reader and I have 3 readers and one of them is not working properly. My first one was Nook Color Ebook Reader for my 2011 birthday and I absolutely adore it. I love the fact that I can add an SD card and I can load my own ebooks in it. I got my 2nd Nook (Black & White) for Mother’s Day in 2014. I used this to store my favorite ebooks. I sometimes read my favorite ones again and again .

And I got my third ebook reader in the form of Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook 7.0 because the Nook Black & white has gotten slower and it takes at least 10 seconds to turn a page. So I needed a new reader to store my favorite ebooks. I will review it soon.

I have been using Good Reads for the past 4 years and I love them. It is a great platform to keep track on all the books you have read and the books you want to read too. I have made some good friends there whom I have never met but have the same taste in books as me  . I love their recommendations.

Even though I moved to ebooks, I still love paperbacks. I usually get some books from the library mainly non-fiction ones. I want my daughter to love books like I do but I guess it’s still early days because she is not into books like me.

On the fun note, If I sing a song it will be

It’s raining Books, Hallelujah It’s raining Books

My dream house would have a library and a window sill seating and it will also have a huge desk where I will have my planner stuffs. And of course, it will have a pin code to enter the room and sound proof . Well, I can dream, can I??

Pet Peeve #2

Its been so long since I posted something in this section and I got an annoying pet peeve to tell you all. I wanted to talk about Asians and South American ladies who dye their hair blond 😡 . I really really HATE it when people with black hair dye their hair blond and lo behold in just 2 weeks their black roots starts showing up. I usually see a South American lady near my home who walks to work and she had this beautiful long blue-black hair which is so thick and straight (Jealous) and one day I just saw her blond hair. I almost fainted with shock.

What the ****? Why would anyone do that? It’s not even brown or caramel, It’s just blond like yellow blond 😯 , Just think of the damage to the hair, the bleach 😦 and with jet black eyebrows 😡 . Really?? Is that a fashion statement??

I ABSOLUTELY HATE it when people do that.

Pet Peeve #1

This is about things currently annoying me 😀 .

I hate it when somebody borrows something from us and don’t return it back.  And when you desperately need it, its not there 😡 . My neighbour borrowed our hammer and of course he doesn’t return stuffs until we ask them back. If we don’t, then he is happy that he gets something free 😡 .

We needed the hammer today and of course we forgot that we gave it to him. He has gone for a holiday for a month and I just couldn’t stop cursing him. I hate it when people do that. Last time he borrowed a 3 way socket from us and he returned it only when we asked. And when we used it, we realised that the broke the fuse 😡 .

Seriously, due to people like this that I don’t want to lend our stuffs.
